Devised Play Project
Winter 2025
In January, 2025, as Kyiv entered a long dark winter, the writers interviewed 15 university students in Kyiv about their dreams, relationships, and living with war.
The result is a devised play set overnight at Karpenko Kary National University of Theater, Cinema and Television in Kyiv, where a group acting students meet to clean their studio before their performance of The Tempest.
As they try get serious and get the job done, they deal with the realities of war when they wish they could just be acting students, miss curfew and become stuck over night. Together, they question if war took their youth.
A reading in NYC is planned for spring.
